Netflix Batalkan Serial The Boroughs dan Kenalkan The East Palace

Layanan streaming Netflix resmi membatalkan serial misteri supernatural "The Boroughs" setelah tayang satu musim, sekaligus meluncurkan cuplikan video pertama untuk serial fantasi gelap terbarunya berjudul "The East Palace" pada Rabu (17/6/2026).

"In a seemingly picturesque retirement community in the New Mexico desert, a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have… time." tulis logline resmi serial tersebut.

Sejumlah aktor senior seperti Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O'Hare, Clarke Peters, hingga Bill Pullman membintangi serial ini.

"Outside of its heartfelt performances and brief flashes of inspiration, The Boroughs is unfortunately as forgettable as the very people who have been shipped off to its community." ujar Daniel Kurland dalam ulasannya di media Bloody Disgusting.

"When the crown prince is found dead in a pond, a chilling rumor paralyzes the palace: the pond spirit has returned to wipe out the King’s bloodline. The King (Cho Seung-woo) fiercely dismisses the killings as mere conspiracy, until his last remaining son, Prince Yeongan, collapses." bunyi bagian awal sinopsis resmi "The East Palace".

"Driven to desperation, the King secretly summons Gu-cheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), who can traverse the Realm of Gwi and defeat them. To ensure his loyalty, the King pairs him with Saeng-gang (Roh Yoon-seo), a court lady born with the ability to hear spirits." lanjut sinopsis tersebut.

"Gu-cheon embarks on the life-or-death mission to destroy the spirit and lift the curse of the East Palace, or die within its walls. But as Gu-cheon hunts the spirit and Saeng-gang secretly spies on his every move, the two draw closer to the dark truth of the East Palace that lies beneath the pond." tambah sinopsis tersebut.
